Red Roof Inn & Suites Statesboro - University

We were given a room that seemed like nobody ever used it. There were spiderwebs, roaches, and holes all over the comforter. The shower was huge, but a missing tile exposed rotten wood. Just writing this so others know the hotel's 2-whatever stars are generous. If every room is like the one we saw, it should be closed.

The front desk person was considerate and refunded our room after we said we couldn't stay. The room itself was the dirtiest hotel room I've ever been in. There were stains all over the bed, a smoke smell, and a cracked, dirty bathtub with hair on it. Absolutely disgusting.

The staff were very pleasant, but this was by far my worst stay at a Red Roof Inn. The bathroom tub was cracked and filthy, even though we were told it was being renovated. Then there were little guests, roaches, yes, roaches. The room had stains on the wall that I was told were paint, but they looked like blood. We wiped them and they came off. The wall also looked punched in. One bed's blankets had stains, and the lampshade was stained and drawn on. The entry door looked like someone had thrown something at it, which should have been a warning.

There was no iron or ironing board, coffee maker, coffee, tea, or condiment packets in the room. The microwave was outdated and broken. They required breakfast to be eaten in the main building, but it wasn't worth going for. Guest service was discourteous at best and minimal. I won't stay at this property again, ever.
