The owner was rude to me and to the sweet housekeeper. He even made my husband wake up so she could clean the room, although my husband works nights and needed to sleep. We’d come here in a pinch after a house fire, and it is affordable, but I wouldn’t recommend supporting this business. The owner is extremely disrespectful to guests and staff.
I don’t get why the rating can’t go down to zero. At $65 a night you get a warm room, but honestly you’d be better off in the cold. The rooms are awful and dirty, with mold, bedbugs, stink bugs, and other things. The walls are covered with who knows what from who knows when. In the room my friend stayed in, the window was blocked with a piece of wood, and there are several rooms like that. I won’t help anyone sleep here again.
It’s $65 a night, with no security deposit, and there are weekly rates, around $350 a week if I remember right. For a night with your girl, it’s the spot. You can’t beat the value for the money. Staff are good; the rooms are old but mostly clean. No pets and no guests. Smoking is allowed if that’s your thing, but ask for a non-smoking room if it isn’t.
I stayed here for the first time after a house fire in 2022, and ended up staying two years. I don’t want to praise it too much and lose my room, but from my own experience I can’t figure out why it isn’t booked up. It’s easily the best hotel in town, especially if you’re in an emergency. It’s private and protected, they don’t let nonsense happen, and they exterminate regularly. They accept people from all walks of life and situations without judging, don’t turn people away when they need somewhere to stay, and respect privacy. It’s very family friendly. My five-year-old daughter calls it “The Pineapple,” like on SpongeBob, and it feels like a temporary home for us. The rooms are very spacious, there’s no deposit, and they even let you fix things yourself. It’s close to everything, including a full laundromat, grocery store, and service station. You can smoke in your room, which is rare these days and can be good if you’re mourning and want to stay out of public view. It’s affordable and they only ask for what’s fair. Many locals appreciate it, and I call this area The Village because everyone helps each other. They also have a whole non-smoking section, so non-smokers don’t have to be around people who smoke. They’re open to new ideas to make the place as accommodating as possible.
The place is incredibly loud. Many people seem to live here, rooms never get cleaned, and there’s yelling and door slamming all hours of the night. The weekly rate is ridiculous, it ought to be the monthly rate. There are roaches, mold, rust, dirt, and bad smells. Who knows when they last washed the sheets? There’s all kinds of sketchy stuff going on. Please don’t bring children here. It’s a bad environment, with bars on the windows and enough violations. Shut it down.
