La Quinta Inn & Suites Stephenville

Our last-minute stay wasn’t planned, but Cody made it easy. He booked the room over the phone, was really friendly, and reassured us that the short notice was fine. Check-in went smoothly, and the room was very nice and clean. We even had a great view of the sunrise. We’d definitely stay at this location again.

The front desk was friendly and professional, and breakfast was good. Most of all, the place was incredibly clean. We were on a cross-country road trip and trying to stay under $120, so this was a little more than we wanted to spend. But that extra $30 was noticeable. Great hotel.

It was a clean, safe place to rest while traveling or visiting Stephenville. Breakfast was good, and might’ve been even better if we’d gotten there earlier. My only complaint is that the hot water took a while to reach the room.

Cody on the night audit shift was a standout. He was professional, kind, familiar with the area, and explained the policies clearly without rushing through them. He offered a bell cart, went over breakfast and pool and fitness area hours, and pointed out where things were in the building. Even with the phone ringing constantly, he kept a good balance between calls and helping guests, and when he had time he followed up with people and went out to help around the pool and fitness areas. Breakfast staff were attentive, housekeeping were friendly, and the overnight staff stayed alert and involved. The property was clean, well lit, and well maintained. My room and TV remote worked fine, and I didn’t see bugs or anything unpleasant left behind. The rooms and maintenance seemed cared for, though the epoxy in the tub could use refreshing. I brought my own towels because of earlier reviews and because I was using makeup, but they offered pool towels too, which was a nice touch. The first shift staff were a little nonchalant, but they weren’t rude. They smiled and greeted me, even while busy. I’m guessing from the other guests and trailers that they were getting ready for a rodeo or livestock event, so the busy desk made sense. The breakfast area can fill up fast, though guests can take food back to their rooms. The room doors also close hard and make a lot of noise. Leadership seems to care about the property, and I enjoyed my stay.
