Motel 6 Stephenville, TX

The room had a decent amount of space, but the experience was poor. There’s no pool, despite the photos showing one, since it has been filled in. The sink and tub drained slowly, the AC was loud and gave off a bad smell, and the Wi-Fi kept cutting out while I watched shows or tried to contact friends and family on my iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. I mentioned the connection problem at check-in, but was told the person could only restart it. That wasn’t acceptable service, and they should do more for guests. There were barely any toiletries: one tiny bar of soap, no shampoo, and limited towels. This is a little hole-in-the-wall Motel 6. I’ve stayed at other Motel 6 locations with better rooms, working amenities, and better service. I wouldn’t want to stay here longer than one night.

Everything was good during my one-night stay. The room was comfortable and clean, check-in was simple, and the staff were friendly. No problems at all.

For over a week, the dog next door was left alone in the room barking nonstop all day. People should be able to walk around their own hotel room without having to listen to that.

The AC was fantastic, and the room was better than the Super 8, though I wouldn’t come back. The room was only “cleanish”: there was a dark brown food splatter around the microwave and up two walls, what I hope were ketchup smudges on some light switches, a stained tub, and a towel holder falling apart with dust and lint packed into it. Outside was just as bad. The parking lot was covered in trash, and the tree-covered area beside it was ankle-deep in rubbish that people had dumped. It looks like people park, drink beer and other adult beverages, and throw the containers on the ground. If anyone cleans the lot, the trash seems to end up in the trees. People who’d stayed at the Super 8 told me they had to watch out for needles on its staircases.
