If you want a clean room without a dog urine smell, don’t stay here. I checked in at 9:45 last night after a 16-hour shift, just hoping to shower and sleep. I could barely do either. When I put my head near one of the two thinnest pillows I’ve ever seen, the bed smelled strongly of dog urine around the crack, especially on the side by the wall. I moved to the nightstand side, where it was still noticeable. Looking underneath, I found dried, caked sauce between the bed and nightstand, plus an old sauce container from a previous guest. I hadn’t eaten or drunk anything in the room. The front desk closes at 5 PM, so there was no onsite staff to ask for help or another room. I tried to get through the night so I could speak to someone in person in the morning, rather than someone overseas who wasn’t equipped to deal with my concerns. The woman I spoke with could barely prompt the payment system to accept tap to pay. The virtual kiosk is offered for check-in and checkout, but someone who hasn’t stayed at a hotel without overnight staff might not know to use one. In the morning I asked in person for a refund. I paid $98 expecting a clean room, not one that smelled like dog piss and was dirty. I had the unfortunate pleasure of meeting Paul, who was condescending and didn’t understand my concern. I used to work at a hotel, and his customer service skills are horrible. He’d do better cleaning rooms than dealing with guests. He said they couldn’t refund me because I hadn’t checked out the night before, but where was I meant to sleep, in my car? Cutting costs at what cost? Spend your money elsewhere.

The apartment-style comfort is what I’ve been missing when I travel. Even the most basic room had a burner, cutting board and decent-sized fridge, and the beds were comfortable. The pillows were thin but comfy, and I could ask for another. I liked exchanging linens instead of having a cleaner come in while I was out, since I don’t like strangers around my things. There isn’t a person in the office 24/7, but the kiosk is available around the clock and connects you by camera to a live person. I thought that was modern and incredible. I’ll definitely book here again when I visit.

Don’t book here. The kiosk charged me twice, and the front desk wouldn’t refund the extra charge when I called. I paid about $300 for one night and only got 100 back. The hotel should only charge the room fee and a deposit.

We came in March to visit family, and checking in after 5p was a mess because nobody was at the desk. We had to check in virtually, which was a bad experience. While that was going on, people kept coming in and out of the front door smoking pot, and most looked homeless. When we got to the room, I told my Aunt it looked like a hooker hotel, “1 hour and out.” The TV didn’t work, and both queen beds were so low that it was hard to stand up from sitting. I checked for bed bugs and didn’t see any, but there was trash under both mattresses. The pillows were so flat that even using two together didn’t help, and the mattresses were hard. The bathroom was clean but smelled like pot. The refrigerator was nice, while the stove looked like it was from the ‘80’s and scared me off using it. There was no carpet. At 1:30am, children cried for at least an hour, and our dog kept getting agitated, jumping up and running to the door. At 2am I called Booking.com and explained what happened. They said we deserved our money back. In the morning, we packed the few things we’d unpacked, and I told the front desk about the awful stay and what Booking.com had said. The woman looked like she’d just thrown on clothes and rushed to the desk, but she was nice. She still refused the refund. I told my Aunt to take the dog to the car, and I was about to go “Detroit” in the room. After I got stern and raised my voice, she refunded us on the credit card three days later. This was the worst hotel, which really isn’t a hotel at all. It’s a Flop House. They should be embarrassed to call it a hotel, and Booking.com should remove it from its listing. Beware of this business.

We’re still staying here, and I’m writing this after getting only two hours of sleep. There’s a bad smell throughout the hotel, and loud guests were up until 2am. If nobody is checking the property manager’s work and making sure things are okay, why run a hotel? And why does the place smell like sewers or chloride? What’s causing it?
