We were in town for work for about a month, and my colleague and I booked this extended stay before arriving. Within two minutes’ drive there’s a shopping area, Giant, Taco Bamba, Paris Baguette, and Lil Cakes & Creamery, among other places. I liked having so many options nearby. The hotel and surrounding area worked well for a longer visit, and I’d recommend staying here if you’ll be in town awhile. The place looks great. The fire pit and propane grill out front were well maintained, the lobby was always clean, and the coffee and hot water for tea were kept stocked. Staff at the front desk were friendly and professional, whether on the day or night shift. They had the things I needed for my room, including some items the hotel didn’t normally provide but had kept after previous guests asked. People also suggested things to do in Virginia, DC, and Maryland for my free time. I never had a bad interaction. Reggie really went above and beyond. At one point I let my frustration get the better of me, and he still worked out a corporate rate for my colleague and me, even after I’d more or less verbally attacked him. He didn’t have to do that. At 4:15 a.m., with two of us coming at him, he stayed composed, professional, and decent. He deserves a holiday. I also saw Yolanda from housekeeping get a tongue lashing over the phone for something that wasn’t her fault. She stayed professional and made things right for the guest. Reggie has a good culture going here, with the RKG, or Right Kind of Guys. Thanks for attending my Ted Talk. Stay classy, San Diego. Anchorman reference.

The people in the lobby are really nice, and the lobby looks good and smells amazing. The room was a different story. I booked two beds for four people but was given a handicapped room with one bed and one pull-out. If you’ve stayed here, you know that isn’t enough space for all of us, though we made it work. We opened a kitchen cupboard and a cockroach crawled out. My 12-year-old is now scared to open any more cupboards, especially since the bugs climbed all the way on top of them. This was on the first floor. There were also dirty, used toothbrushes above the microwave. When we arrived, there was hard toast on the kitchen counter, cherry pits by the door, and sunflower seeds across the bathroom floor. Because it was a handicapped room, the shower had no raised edge, just a flat floor and drain, so water soaked the bathroom floor. The room had no towels, blankets, or pillows, just one blue blanket. Nobody came in to clean or bring towels. I had to ask at the front desk for all of that, plus extra blankets. If you have more people, ask for silverware too. Our room had only one fork, two spoons, and two regular and two steak knives. The door battery was dead when we arrived. A man fixed it so we could stay, but we didn’t get to sleep until 2:30 a.m. The next morning the windows were cracked open for some reason, so I closed and locked them. I wish I’d taken a picture of the roaches. I’ve seen comments from the owners or workers saying there are no roaches and mentioning pest control. Why tell people that when there are bugs in my room? My kids saw them too. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, and this will be my first and last visit. We check out tomorrow, thankfully.

I’ve been staying at MainStay Suites for about a year, and it’s been a positive experience throughout. The whole team is friendly and professional, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. It’s a peaceful, safe place that really feels like home during a long stay. Manager Reggie Williams stands out for being kind, approachable, and ready to help whenever I need something. I appreciate his genuine care for guests and the consistent hospitality from everyone. I’d highly recommend MainStay Suites for short or long visits.

The rooms were neat, clean, and nice, and we had a 10/10 stay. Service was excellent too. Yolanda was especially kind and helpful, which made the visit even better.

I’d only been here an hour and was already wishing I’d booked somewhere else. The front desk woman was extremely rude. The room had roaches and no towels, clean sheets, or fresh blankets for the pull-out sofa. When I asked, she said they were in the room. I told her I’d looked already, and she gave me a nasty look and told me to check again. I sent my friend back to ask so I wouldn’t lose it. I’ve never been treated so poorly, even at Red Roof Inns. Exhaust every other option before booking here. Update: I thought I’d left my wallet in the room and went back to ask for a key. The same front desk woman said I’d left it there during check-in the day before. I’d been back to the desk twice the previous day. She could have returned it then. I guess she thought she was getting a free Coach wallet.
