We stayed for about two months while relocating, because most other chain hotels were booked on weekends and I didn’t want to move every week. We changed rooms four times. The showerhead came off the wall in the first room, and we moved from the second because we wanted more space. In that larger room, our two children were bitten for days. I suspected bedbugs, but went along with the manager’s explanation that it might be spiders. I honestly hoped it was spiders. One morning before work, my daughter found and caught a bedbug. I had to miss work and take the children to the doctor, who confirmed it was a bedbug and that they’d been badly bitten. We were moved again. We had to throw away some belongings, and still have bags in our garage that need washing because of the exposure. We never requested a refund or compensation for the damage or laundry. I didn’t care much about the dated rooms, and the housekeeper did a good job with what she had. The staff were very kind to us, and it isn’t their fault the motel is poorly funded and maintained, apparently with years between updates. The Operations Manager, as I understand it, doesn’t deal directly with guests and sends everything through the manager. He isn’t the owner. After my conversation with the manager two weeks earlier about battling roach nests in the basement of his singles building for months, the Operations Manager accused us of bringing in both bedbugs and roaches. I felt bullied, especially as a family with young children who had helped around the hotel and overlooked its problems without asking for anything. I work in hospitality and manage a nearby hotel. If the Operations Manager had been kind, or even courteous enough to come apologize, I would have sent guests looking for a true budget option here. Bedbugs can happen at any motel or hotel, but you should never accuse a guest of bringing them in. This is ridiculous. They aren’t properly dealt with here. The best approach is torpedo heaters and throwing everything out of the room. I sincerely won’t send any potential paying guests their way. If you have to pay weekly in cash, stick to the Knights Inn. Honestly, I hope UWSP buys the place, levels it, and makes it a parking lot.

I had a terrible stay. There was mold and the air conditioning leaked. My fiancée, who has a central line, got pneumonia. They also refused to let her have an emotional support animal, despite her doctor’s note saying she needed one, because they don’t allow pets. The manager was friendly at first but became uncooperative after we’d been there a couple of months. The living conditions can be harmful, so I can’t give it even one star. Police came there more often than I saw. I would rather have stayed at nights inn than the point motel. I’m sharing this so someone who already has an illness doesn’t get sick like my fiancée did.

The Point Motel is one of the better motels in town. The rooms are clean and affordable, and the management and staff are friendly and easy to talk with. I give it five stars. Staying here also supports a small business, which I prefer to a larger motel or hotel.

You’re close to lots of restaurants, including KFC, Toppers Pizza, Hardees, and Mcdonalds, so the location is convenient. Customer service was great, but the rooms were in rough shape, with cracks by the window panes and a musty smell. I’d recommend it if you need something cheap. If the smell or the room’s condition will bother you, you’re better off elsewhere.

I came to pick someone up and take them to the doctor, and what I saw was awful. There was trash and stuff all over the place. I can’t believe the owner allows it, or that there are no codes or inspections for this place.
