We had no problems during our four nights in suite 1. Megan, the innkeeper and breakfast cook, was helpful with local activities and shopping, and brought us fresh linens when we asked. The rest of the arrangements were handled by email or text. The room was very spacious, with a double closet, a jacuzzi-style tub as well as a shower, separate sinks for him and her, and a toilet behind its own door. The building was in great shape for its age. The king bed and sheets were comfortable, with plenty of space for both of us. The TV sat inside an old wardrobe, so parts of the screen were cut off at the sides, but we didn't watch much. Megan made a lovely breakfast each morning with plenty of coffee and tea. We especially liked the baked French toast, though I'm not sure how the meals rotate. The inn is just under a mile's walk down into Harpers Ferry, which I enjoyed. We didn't make it to the barn on the hill out back since it closes at 8, though its parking lot was nearly full every day. Maybe next time.

The old, 300-year-old building had lovely charm, and breakfast was good with my dietary needs accommodated. Still, this was a one-star stay for me, and I'd warn people before booking. At 6:30 in the morning, water started raining into our room through a ceiling leak along a beam. I called and emailed, but got no response for a day. I had to put wastebaskets under the leak and take out the garbage myself, then move the soaked towels and old large throw rug into the bathtub. I also walked around checking every closet I could find for clean towels. Nobody staffs the place outside breakfast. Later, a representative said the leak had been fixed and argued that we hadn't specifically asked for the room to be cleaned or for a call or email back. Her tone was contentious. I requested a full night's refund, but she offered $100 off instead. My bank showed only $95, and when I texted about it, she was contentious again. Very disappointing.

Megan made incredible breakfasts and was a wonderful hostess, full of useful local knowledge and tips. Our room was comfortable and spacious, and the Light Horse Inn is very close to town. We loved our stay.

We stayed one night in late October and had trouble finding the Inn after dark because its sign wasn't prominent. There were no extra pillows, blankets, or comforters in the room, and the heating didn't work. We never saw the Innkeeper. Breakfast was filling, but nothing special. I don't think we'd stay again.

The Innkeeper Meghan cooked a delicious breakfast that was included, and the furnishings throughout the property were beautiful. We had the whole place to ourselves, including two shared sitting rooms. Our spacious room, number 1, was clean and comfortable, with reliable internet, a comfortably firm king bed, and a jacuzzi tub that was a treat. We really enjoyed our overnight stay on a mid-November weeknight. Harpers Ferry is about a 15-minute walk, so we didn't need to drive there. One small complaint: the website mentions a full-service bar on the property, but that amenity doesn't currently exist. I'd recommend the Light Horse Inn.
