The queen beds were comfortable, but the sofa bed was so thin I could feel the springs lying down. Anyone with a bad back would be better off on the floor with a sleeping bag. I’d paid for the largest, most expensive room for my family, and that was disappointing. Some outlets didn’t work either, which briefly made my Mom think her blow dryer was broken. The shower knob took force to turn, the pressure was only almost okay, and the water kept shifting from hot to cold. Breakfast was passable, but you’d be better off at IHOP or somewhere similar. The hotel and rooms looked nice in the ads, but were quite different in person. I fell for the advertising and should’ve read the reviews. With the money these hotel franchises collect, you’d think they’d invest in customers, but I guess it’s all greed.
Noise was the worst part. Our room was by the front desk, and the lobby got unbelievably loud from 6 a.m. on. I could also hear every footstep and kids running overhead because the building is so poorly constructed. The feather pillows had sharp tips that scratched my face and were really uncomfortable. The juice machine was broken, so we had to pour juice from a large bucket into a small cup. While we were at breakfast, the cleaning lady walked straight into our room despite the Do Not Disturb sign. That was a complete violation of our privacy. The front desk woman was dismissive and rude and didn’t apologize. She said she’d accidentally checked us out and back in, supposedly explaining why the TV was on, then said the cleaning lady “didn’t stay long,” as though that made it okay. It didn’t. That attitude was unprofessional, and her explanation didn’t justify what happened.
The room was unbelievably loud. I was put right by the front desk, and the people next door let their baby bang toys against the wall all night and all morning. The front desk did nothing, and I got no sleep. I had to bang on the wall myself. Crying or getting a bit loud is normal, but letting a child slam toys into the walls for hours on purpose so it wouldn’t cry is insane. Those people should have been thrown out. The front area also kept banging at 2-3 am, filling the quiet left by the demon baby. I should’ve slept in my car. I wasted $135 being tortured all night without sleep. The room itself was gross too. The tub didn’t drain right, there were bugs and black bits in the sink, and the carpet was filthy. The feather pillows smelled like dirty body oil that had built up for decades. Feather pillows hold odor and bacteria. The bed was much too squishy, and the TV remote didn’t work right for the volume. If that wasn’t enough, I have bites all over me. Highly do NOT recommend this hell hotel. CA hotels are really bad. Negative review, worst hotel experience yet!
We were in the area for a family emergency while a relative was in a nearby hospital. The location was convenient, with food and stores close by, and we appreciated having breakfast every day and seeing it change from day to day. We stayed for a week and will most likely come back when we need to return to the area.
We stayed 4 nights during a two-week trip across the US, and the staff made us feel especially welcome and valued. The rooms were very clean, spacious enough for four people, and had extremely comfortable beds. The pool was spotless, and the breakfasts were good by typical American standards. The location was excellent too. We had a fabulous stay.
