Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Stone Mountain, GA

Getting in and out can be difficult at certain times of day, which is why I rated the location four stars. The included breakfast was adequate for the price and always ready on time, though it won’t blow your socks off. The beds were reasonably comfortable, the shower pressure was fine, and the rooms were clean and spacious. Staff were courteous, and it was mostly quiet, though the heavy doors slam loudly no matter how carefully you try to close them. It costs a bit more than some other budget hotels nearby, but after hearing what people working at the same festival paid elsewhere, I thought it was well worth it. I honestly can’t find another flaw. I’ll definitely stay here again for my event.

We just needed somewhere to rest with the family after a long day and didn’t go exploring. The beds were very comfortable, and our room was a good size. The workers we met were kind and helpful, too. But the cleanliness was lacking: the floor didn’t look properly swept or vacuumed, there was a big stain on the ceiling that looked like a bug had been smeared, and there were other concerning spots. The walls are VERY thin. With our TV on, we could still hear a family next door, either celebrating or fighting. I didn’t like the elevator either. I’d never ridden one on a conveyor belt and wasn’t expecting those jumps. If you have anxiety, take the stairs, haha. The call center told us there was a whirlpool hot tub, which was the main reason we picked this hotel, but there wasn’t one. We also got stuck on a call afterward about a current promotion. They kept pushing after we said no several times. Just be aware when booking. I think that was a Choice Privileges issue rather than the hotel itself.

After a long, cold day at Stone Mountain, I just needed somewhere to sleep. There’s food and entertainment within walking distance. The bed was very comfortable, and it was reasonably quiet. The lobby had strong free coffee and a big jug of lemon-infused ice water, a nice touch. Service was efficient, though a little impersonal.

The staff were great. We left something behind after checkout, and they called my cell to let us know and offered ways to get it back to us in another state. Everything was clean, and the continental breakfast was good, with lots of hot teas and other options. One odd thing was the elevator: on the three-floor ride, stopping at #2 made it bounce and pop two or three times before settling. Still, the staff were super nice, and I’d stay here again when I’m back in the area.
