Quality Inn Stone Mountain

The nearby stores were the part I liked: Walmart Supercenter, Kroger, laundromats, and plenty of other places are about four minutes away. But for a getaway or family vacation, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It might work if you just need somewhere to land for a while. I booked Quality Inn Stone MTN, Ga through booking.com for 23 nights, from 1/13/26 to 2/5/2026, after my planned move fell through at the last minute. The low nightly price and pet-friendly policy helped, and check-in was smooth. The cat fee is $15 per day. The room, though, smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, had a broken dresser handle, and was filthy. It hadn’t been dusted or sanitized as the room signage claimed. The fitted sheets were stained, so I didn’t want to sleep under their bedding and used my own. Housekeeping is every three days, only if requested. A man and woman from housekeeping push a cart around and knock. They’re decent people for the most part, though the man is uncouth, wears glasses, and doesn’t speak much English. He used a key to open my door once. Luckily, the latch was on, so it couldn’t open fully. Since the room had been left in such poor shape, I didn’t request their service. I bought a sponge mop, bucket, and cleaning supplies to scrub cigarette soot off the walls and sanitize the very dirty counters. The curtains look like they haven’t been washed or changed in years. The bathroom walls are filthy, and the stains won’t come off. The ice machine is always broken, and the thin walls let you hear everything. Weed and cigarette smoke from nearby rooms can make it seem like someone’s smoking in yours. The front desk woman and a rude man from housekeeping knocked and said I’d only paid for one week for my cat. I paid week to week, planning to try to get him temporarily adopted until I was stable. I’d paid each week on time. If they’d checked further, they would’ve seen that. I directed them to the manager, who is nice. The woman at the desk is nice too, but I didn’t appreciate being accused of not paying after spending so much on a filthy room. I’ve killed two roaches since arriving, and roaches seem to be a common problem. Clean the room yourself and bring your own blankets. I’d use a laundromat instead of the guest laundry, where dryers cost $1.50 for 15 minutes. There were some awful things happening around me too: one drunk neighbor banged on my door looking for somebody, a man was beating the woman with him a couple of doors down, and a couple broke a headboard. The hot breakfast is self-service and amounts to pouring waffle mix into a waffle maker, with cereal, milk, coffee, and apple juice also available.
