Our room was spotless, and they left plenty of towels and amenities for the morning. The breakfast baskets were tasty and nutritious, and staff were friendly and available when guests needed them. It was a great stay, very convenient for town and other sites. I’d definitely recommend it. Thank you, Rick and Katie.

For a ski weekend, this turned out to be a great choice. The location is just off the main road, with access to the mountain shuttle nearby. Check-in and checkout were easy, and the hostess was helpful and very nice. Our room was clean and warm when we arrived, and having the breakfast basket refilled each day was a great bonus.

The pet rules were handled badly and weren’t made clear when we booked. We were told pets couldn’t get on the furniture, though the book said to get sheets from the office to cover it. When we asked the owner for sheets, he said the pets couldn’t get on the beds and told us to put the sheets on the floor. He warned there’d be a cleaning fee if pet hair was found on the beds, argued with us, and was not nice at all. We were furious. How many people travel with pets and don’t let them sleep on the beds? It felt very deceptive. We also had to pay for TWO rooms because of the two-dog limit, over $700 for two nights. The owners’ dogs came into the restaurant while we were eating and came over to our table. Their kids ran around making a lot of noise. The office and breakfast didn’t open until 8am, but we had to leave by 7:30, so that wasn’t available to us. We couldn’t even get ice. Other motels in Stowe had full parking lots as we passed them. They’d made a better choice than we did.

We were told the pit-bull wandered around the property, which made me a bit uneasy. In our room, the carpet looked dirty, and a ceiling repair seemed to consist of plywood and screws. We also periodically heard what sounded like something leaking from above or behind the wall. There were definitely mice: on the first morning our dog’s food bowl was empty with droppings and urine in it. The same thing happened the second night, even after we put it on a bench by the bathroom. On the third night we kept the food in the truck except at feeding time. There was also a brand new Marlboro Light cigarette on the closet’s top shelf. Odd, since signs in the room said no smoking, including marijuana. Despite all that, I would stay here again. The easy check-in and checkout, local literature and suggestions from the front desk, simple but nice breakfast, and enough amenities for our three nights were positives. It was pet friendly too.
