Northern Lights Lodge

After skiing, we made good use of the clean, well kept indoor pool, hot tub, and dry sauna. It was also cute crossing the wooden bridge from our room over the pool to the dining area for breakfast. The room worked well for our family, with a king bed, bunks for the kids, a little dining table, microwave, fridge, couch, and plenty of space for our ski gear. At $250 a night, the room size and on site amenities made this feel like good value, and the lodge is about 10 minutes from Stowe, with breakfast included. Breakfast was fairly basic but you could order as much as you wanted: eggs with or without sausage, cereal, sweetened yogurt and granola, small muffins and mini scones, instant oatmeal, and apple or orange juice. There were also oranges, mini apples, toast, coffee, and tea to serve yourself. The gentlemen taking orders and making breakfast were all lovely. The interiors are dated, but still charming. Great value so close to Stowe, and we'll definitely return.

For a ski bum kind of place, this was perfect. The rooms are big, there's free coffee around the clock, and the pool and hot tub are nice. It's right on the mountain shuttle route too. Breakfast was almost adequate, though the whole setup is run really inefficiently. The TVs are very old, so don't expect streaming or casting from your phone, and the shower could be better.

This is my second time here, and I like the cozy, homey feel of the rooms. The old building is comfortable and quaint, and there's a nice pool and hot tub. Breakfast is served in a lovely spot with a fireplace, and the guy serving it is super friendly, though the food itself is extremely basic. At over $200 a night, it surprised me that the rooms don't have conditioner or body lotion. For the price, the value isn't impressive, but the charm makes up for some of it.

The owners and staff were very accommodating, helping us with directions and suggestions for things to do, and breakfast in the morning was delicious. My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Northern Lights Lodge on our recent visit to Stowe, Vermont. It's about 1.5 to 2 miles from downtown, which worked perfectly for us. We could walk there or take the walking path to enjoy the colors in the trees, and some of the area's best restaurants are a short distance away. We'll definitely go back.
