Days Inn East Stroudsburg

We came to enjoy the area for a couple of nights, and it was a good stay. Staff were friendly, the room was clean, and the in-room jacuzzi worked really well. I didn't use the pool. The bathroom door wouldn't close, which was my only real complaint. The lights were a little dim and the TV picture grainy. Those didn't bother me much, though my girlfriend thought some people might mind.

The hotel is near Shawnee Mountain, but I'll never set foot there again. Our room stayed above 90 degrees and stifling all night even with the A/C running full blast on cold. The indoor pool was too cold to use, and fog filled the pool area so badly we couldn't see each other. The towels were tiny, rough, old, and uncomfortable. People were running around, swearing, and slamming doors until 3 am. Some kind of Latin night at the bar brought aggressive bass house music that shook the walls well past 2 am. I tried to get club soda with ice, but the bartender, who used profanity talking about his missing boss, didn't know what club soda was. The proprietors should be ashamed. Stay away.

The lobby had a strange smell I couldn't identify, and the staff were just okay, neither especially nice nor rude. The whole place was dirty, including the hallways and other areas. In my room, the walls were stained all over. I wiped the toilet and the wipe came away yellow, even though the residue came off easily, which makes me think it hadn't been cleaned. The indoor pool didn't look as good as its picture, and the few chairs and tables there were dirty. There were no towels by the pool, so I had to get them from the lobby. Given these conditions, it was way overpriced. I completely regret booking.

There was a fridge and coffee maker in the room, and it was clean. The bed had a heavy spread, and there was a TV. The lobby looked pretty and the clerk was nice. It wasn't bad for the price, though my biggest gripe was that there was no bathroom mirror. There was one outside the bathroom by the sink and bed. I forgot about Latin night in the lounge on Saturdays, and wanted to try it.
