The property was clean, attractive, and just what I’d expect from a Fairfield Inn. The trouble was how our weather concern was handled. A warning predicted 12-24 inches of snow during our stay, so we spoke with the front desk and chose to leave early for safety. We knew our rate was non-refundable and weren’t seeking our money back, only asking whether goodwill points might be possible for the night we wouldn’t use. The hotel sent us to customer service, and customer service said the decision belonged to the hotel. We ended up going in circles with no flexibility or clear ownership, even with the storm warning. That felt especially disappointing because Marriott had offered goodwill points quickly after service issues on previous stays, which helped build our loyalty. We raised this respectfully and in advance, but got no accommodation. The hotel itself is lovely. I just wish the service had shown more empathy and discretion during severe weather.

My in-laws were placed at the hotel through their insurer’s housing vendor after a house fire. Most of the staff were kind and fantastic, but our experience with Amber and Sydney on January 2nd was awful. Our family had been playing dominoes and chatting quietly in the common area each night. That evening, the front desk staff turned off the lights while we were mid-game. I asked them to switch them back on, assuming they hadn’t seen us in the corner. They responded with attitude, saying they could do it for another half hour because quiet time meant the lights had to be off. We hadn’t known that, since we’d been there nightly. They reluctantly restored the lights, then went to the back and spoke Spanish while laughing about us. We understand Spanish and could hear they were speaking badly about us. Meanwhile, two girls were laughing and yelling in the lobby, and Amber and Sydney had no problem serving them water. We were the ones made to leave just for sitting there. There was no sign saying the common area closed, only quiet hours after 10 p.m., which we followed. They could have simply asked us to finish up and move, and we would have done so right away. I’ll never stay here again. Marriott needs to do better.

I was exhausted and needed somewhere to sleep after my mom was admitted from the ER to St Lukes, just across Rte 611. It was 10 p.m., and I live out of state. The front desk person was genuinely kind and made check-in easy. The property was very clean, and I appreciated having free breakfast before heading back to the hospital in the morning. One little issue: the room drapes don’t close, so bring an eye mask if you want the room dark enough to sleep late.

For a two-star hotel, this is a comfortable, clean place to stay. The pool water looked a little cloudy and the rooms could stand to be updated, but it’s still a pleasant option for its category.

My parents had to stay at the Marriott for more than a week after a house fire. We got to know a lot of the staff, including Tim at the front desk and the friendly, accommodating housekeeper Marianne. They helped make the stay feel welcoming. That changed on the second-to-last day, when Sydney and Amber turned off the lobby lights while my family was sitting there, without warning us. When we went to the desk and asked to have them turned back on so we could see to finish up and pack, we got attitude and a response along the lines of, “I guess I can turn them back on for you.” They then went into the back to avoid us. It would have taken a moment to kindly say the lobby needed to close soon, but instead my family felt disrespected and unwelcome. Later, two other guests sat in the lobby and the lights stayed on for them. If you want a comfortable, family-friendly stay, I’d check whether Sydney and Amber are working.
