Best Western Downtown Stuart

The staff were okay, and the room was somewhat dated but fairly clean. The stay itself was neither great nor awful. What really bothered me was the extra pet fee each night, even though I’d been told there was no fee. I raised the third-party booking listing with the staff member, but she said it wasn’t her fault. The company should take responsibility for how third-party sites represent it, and it didn’t. Book directly if you stay here, because they won’t accept responsibility for that kind of misrepresentation. I won’t be coming back.

We were left waiting in the lobby until three hours past midnight, unable to get into a room we had already paid for. We had booked through Priceline and only needed to add a second guest’s name so they could check in. The hotel said Priceline had to make the change, while Priceline said the hotel needed to do it. Both sent us back to the other, and neither took responsibility for sorting out a simple request. That policy gap between Priceline and Best Western put us in a really unfair position. This was unacceptable service, and I hope Best Western fixes the process so future guests don’t go through the same thing.

A peaceful, lovely place to stay, and very clean. It works perfectly when traveling with a dog: the rooms have hard floors, there’s lots of grass outside, and the fenced lot makes it feel private and secluded.

The location is great, and it’s clean and good enough for what it is. I’m not sure why they call it a hotel instead of a motel, since every room opens outdoors, either onto a courtyard or the parking lot.
