Sherwood Motel

The motel was clean and well kept, and the room price seemed fair for the area. Parking the truck and trailer turned out to be a problem. When we reserved, we explained that we had a four-door, full-size pickup and an 18-foot trailer loaded with equipment. The helpful woman on the phone assured us there’d be plenty of lot space, said the motel was fairly underbooked, and didn’t expect an issue. At check-in, though, we were told it was full, and the gentleman helping us said there wasn’t really anywhere to leave the trailer. He was nice and helpful, walked around with us, and eventually let us park it somewhere they usually don’t allow parking for the duration of our stay.

Great people and a great location. I stay here often when I’m working nearby, and this weekend we’re here for our honeymoon. They offer a veterans discount. Five stars.

It’s clean and close to downtown, with everything you might want within walking distance. The staff were pleasant, and the motel was fine for what it costs, though there aren’t many amenities. Parking felt a little tight, and you’re right by a major intersection. Nothing special, but okay overall.

I’ve been coming here once a year for a couple of years, and it’s a great spot. Some side rooms have been remodeled and look nice and very clean, though the layout could work better. There’s nowhere to unpack your things now, since the dressers are gone, and the irons have been removed from the rooms too. The mirror is tiny; a full-length one would help. Hopefully they’ll consider these things before renovating more rooms. Still a great place.
