Suburban Studios Stuart near Federal Hwy 1

The two women who helped at check-in and check-out were both very nice, but my family and I couldn't stay in Room 234. We left roughly an hour after checking in, and I've never been in a worse room. The damp, musty, moldy smell was overpowering. There was grime on the walls and doors, patches of missing paint, what looked like mold on the bathroom ceiling and around the tub, and dirt beneath the light switch. The top of the shower looked long uncleaned, the cabinet around the microwave was greasy and dirty, the microwave was rusty, and the freezer interior was dirty too. The front door was filthy from the outside, which I initially thought I could overlook. My kids' sinuses started acting up while we were out eating, as they often do around mold, and they begged not to stay. We went back for our two bags and checked out. I don't usually post reviews, but felt I should after booking this one-night stay.

The room was reasonably comfortable for a night, but the TV was awful and the window facing the street didn't seem to offer much privacy. They also hold a $100 deposit on a card, and getting it back takes a long time. I was there for two nights, and a month later the money still hadn't returned to my account.

Loved the cozy, clean rooms, and the staff were amazing. Great place for the price. I'd absolutely stay again.

We only stayed a few minutes after getting to our room because we felt unsafe. People were sitting outside with their doors wide open, smoking and talking, and the room beside ours seemed like a hoarding situation with loud music blaring. At the hotel we moved to, staff said Suburban had a reputation for “unsavory activities.” I didn't see any of that myself, so I'm only passing along what they told us. This felt like a transient hotel.
