Sturbridge Country Inn

I've stayed here several times and always find it charming. The owners and staff are friendly, the service is great, and the lobby is comfortable. The rooms are clean and comfortable, some with jacuzzis, and we enjoyed the king suite once, I believe that's what it was called. I also spent my honeymoon here. It's a romantic getaway for couples, with a beautiful atmosphere. Easy to find, plenty of parking, and worth a visit anytime. I'd highly recommend it.

The whirlpool tub was the highlight of our king deluxe ensuite, and the bed was comfortable. The room was great overall, though this is an old inn, not a modern hotel, so some areas feel older or rustic. I'd been unsure after reading the reviews, but was very happy we stayed. The man who checked us in was friendly and made sure we were all set. It's a small family-owned place, so the office isn't staffed 24/7. That didn't bother us, but call ahead if you'll arrive late.

We've stayed here about six times since 1998, and every visit has left us happy. We got married here that year, and I'm writing this from the very same room while celebrating with my husband and our beautiful daughter. The management has always gone out of its way to accommodate our requests. Sturbridge Country Inn is still my favorite place to stay in Sturbridge. It has rustic charm and a unique feel that appeals to my family and me. Tastes shift as the economy changes, but I'm glad so much has stayed the same: it's relaxing and comfortable, with unique amenities at an affordable price. Thank you for everything over these past 20 years!

Listen, if you want lots of frills, this probably isn't your place. I still prefer it to a fancy hotel any day. The rooms are comfortable, the whirlpool tubs are great, and the location is awesome. We come for local breweries, music, and restaurants, or sometimes just to veg out on a quiet weekend. Easily my favorite short-term getaway.
