Quality Inn & Suites Sturgeon Bay

For a business trip, this is a good motel if you're watching your budget, and the staff are pleasant. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, showers hot, and breakfast was enough to fill up on. The hallway carpet shows wear, but plenty of construction workers stay here, so it didn't bother me. It's not a five-star hotel, but it's much better than the Super 8 down the road.

The breakfast was decent, but I left feeling cheated and disrespected. The website photos are from nine years ago and bear no resemblance to the hotel's current condition. I work hard for my money, and I wouldn't have stayed if I had known what the place was actually like. Please update the photos instead of misleading people. I was on the first floor, and the window lock was initially jammed open. I managed to secure it eventually, but the window faced a gas station, which didn't feel safe. The shade was broken and wouldn't retract, so I was stuck looking at its obnoxious picture in an already dark, unpleasant room. The experience was especially hard for me with ADHD and PTSD. I could also hear the TVs in both rooms next door through the thin walls. The bedspread was stained, the outlets were cracked, the light was a dingy yellow, and the shower was so gross I wouldn't use it, even though I badly needed one after working construction overnight at a local retailer. There was a handicapped shower seat in the bathroom. That's useful for people who need it, but with the general lack of cleanliness, I wouldn't sit on it even if it were wrapped in plastic. I had to deep-clean everything I brought with me. The hall lights had no covers, and the outside was crumbling, stained, and rusted with water. The sign on the side of the building was missing or broken. From the reviews, it seems the pool has been under construction for over a year, so I doubt it'll ever be fixed.

We stay at these hotels wherever we go, and the price is great for clean rooms. Some rooms could use updated furniture, but the pool area is always clean and well kept.

It worked as a place to sleep, but the room carpet was wet and the shower was dirty. When I asked for towels to soak up the water, they brought one and didn't put it on the wet patch. They said they'd clean the shower again, but when they returned it was dry and looked just the same, so it didn't seem like they'd used any water. They also offered a dehumidifier, but none ever arrived.
