Holiday Inn Express Racine Area (I-94 At Exit 333)

There are a few places you can walk to, including a gas station and McDonald's. Breakfast was great and had plenty to pick from. The rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly and happy to help. All in all, a great hotel.

Good water pressure in the shower, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is pretty dated, and the standard Holiday Inn pillows flatten right down to nothing. If you just need a cheap place for the night, it'll do.

I was charged a lot for what I believe was the hotel's mistake, and the local property has only agreed to refund half so far. Corporate hasn't resolved it either. I booked through a wedding room block, but they entered Friday instead of Saturday. When I arrived Saturday, they said I had missed my reservation and wouldn't give me a room. They also planned to charge the full hotel fee for the wrong night. The manager initially refused to speak with me, then blamed me for the error and said I had to accept the charges. The desk clerk accused me of lying and wouldn't help me find another room. Being out of town with nowhere to stay was bad enough, and they didn't seem to care. I've been trying to get a refund through the corporate office. I'll never stay at a Holiday Inn again.

We'd stayed here a couple of times before without problems. On this visit, ants showed up in our room the first morning. Maintenance came quickly but only used Raid, which kills the ants there; bait is needed to get rid of the insects. Later we saw dead cockroaches in the back stairwell, and live ones were there the next day. That Friday night, a drug-related party started in the parking lot and moved inside. We heard police were called and arrests made, but never saw them. The front desk apologized when we reported the roaches, but offered no compensation. I contacted Holiday Inn corporate three times and got only an apology, with nothing from the hotel itself.
