Best Western Plus Sugar Land/Stafford Hotel

The bathroom mirror had lights around it, which made it bright and fun for selfies, lol. Breakfast had a good range, and both the room and the rest of the place were really clean. Everyone was kind, especially Johnny, who was so friendly and went out of his way for my kids. It was quiet, felt safe, and there weren’t people hanging around.

The pool looked clean and inviting, and the rooms themselves were clean, but I wouldn’t choose this location again. There isn’t much within walking distance, and with no sidewalks along the street, you need a car to get food. Breakfast was a letdown apart from the waffles. The same bananas sat out day after day, turning browner until they weren’t edible, and nobody replaced them. Seeing that and then a roach racing down the hallway one night made me wary of eating the other breakfast items because I couldn’t know what the kitchen was like. During our week, it also seemed the room sweepings were pushed into the hall, which was vacuumed only once or twice. The air conditioning was unreliable, though we were told a trick to make it work. The beds weren’t very comfortable either. Mediocre at best.

I’ve stayed here several times and keep coming back for the friendly, helpful staff and clean rooms. It’s easy to get around from this location, and the rates are reasonable. They offer free breakfast and have cooked laundry machines. It has a family friendly feel, so yes, I recommend it.

The staff caused us no problems, and the room otherwise seemed in good condition. Still, the air conditioner was loud enough to make it hard to sleep. Earlier, the room had felt stuffy when we arrived around 4:30, which we figured might be because the AC wasn’t on with no guests in there. About an hour later we heard banging, as if some repairs were happening. The TV picture was clear, but it was on with no volume and made a loud static sound twice.
