The DeBary Inn

The breakfast was fresher than the usual free continental spread, and the owners and workers I met were all sweet and hospitable. I’d consider coming back if I visit Summit again, though this time I’d think twice about the room and the noise. Room 12 is quite snug, as they say upfront, so I wouldn’t choose it for two guests. The house is old, and the floors and bed creak enough that you can hear people above you. I also had a frustrating time trying to reach them by email after sending questions the way they requested. The common areas have a cute, cozy antique feel, and I had a good stay overall. I chose the inn because I had plans at a restaurant in downtown Summit, but it wouldn’t suit a work trip or a stay where I needed to sleep on time without worrying about hearing other guests.

We spent eight nights at the Debary Inn over Christmas and had a fantastic stay. The Inn was looked after after reception hours by Robert, who helped fix a problem in our bathroom and made sure guests were comfortable. Before we arrived, I asked the team about gluten-free and dairy-free options. There was a small misunderstanding at first, but Emily quickly took care of it and made sure I had safe things to eat at breakfast. She was very available throughout our stay and clearly loves her work. She even looked for gluten-free recipes when making Christmas treats for guests and came up with delicious peanut butter and oat power balls. I really appreciated the extra effort. The DeBary Inn was a great find for my friend and me. Emily at the front desk was friendly and accommodating, and the room had comfortable beds and a huge bathroom. It was on a quiet street but still very close to downtown and the train station, and the free parking was handy. I’d highly recommend staying here and will definitely come back when I’m in the area.

Summit is an adorable town, with lots of shops and restaurants and a handy train station for day trips. The inn’s location is hard to beat, and the team are welcoming and friendly. The rooms could use some investment, but they were comfortable and more than enough for my needs. For the price, it feels like a steal. There’s no hot breakfast, but the continental spread is comprehensive enough to get your day started. I highly recommend the inn to anyone visiting the area.
