Best Western Plus Grapevine Inn

I needed a paper receipt for my business trip, but the staff refused to print one because I’d booked through Expedia and told me to use the emailed receipt. I explained that I needed a physical copy for my records, and they still wouldn’t help. When I asked for the corporate office number to report the service, the general manager said he was the manager. I clarified that I wanted corporate’s contact details. He claimed every location was privately owned. I understand a franchise can be privately run, but there’s still a corporate office setting operating standards. Refusing a basic receipt and then withholding contact information felt very unprofessional. The customer service was extremely disappointing.

We came to the area for a wedding and had a great stay. The room was clean and spacious, with plenty of parking for our rental car. Breakfast came with a lovely view of the vineyard behind the hotel. It’s about 43 minutes from Pasco airport. I expected the area to feel really rural, but there are restaurants and coffee shops nearby, so it’s still a handy location with things to do.

The charge was finally reversed, but only after I disputed it through my credit card company. I had to spend more time writing up what happened and sending Wells Fargo the records needed to remove the mistaken charge from this shady, badly franchised Best Western. My company won’t use this hotel or any Best Western again. Here’s what happened: I booked three days, then my work trip shifted one week later. I canceled within the policy window, got an email confirming it, and rebooked for the following week. After that stay, I saw they’d billed me for both visits. The $365.28 charge should have been simple to reverse with the documentation I had, but apparently the manager had quit or been fired around then. I left several calls, messages, and emails and got no response. Best Western Corporate wouldn’t help because the properties are independently owned and operated. Billing mistakes happen, but leaving a customer with $365 taken from their account and ignoring weeks of attempts to fix it is unacceptable.
