The room itself was fine, quiet, and had the usual amenities. Most of the other guests seemed to be local workers or contractors who kept to themselves. But there were enough problems around the stay that I wouldn’t choose FairBridge Inn & Suites again. The building felt old, the carpets were badly worn, and there was even a small hole in the hallway. The walls had been painted recently. Outside, the covered entrance was blocked off for what looked like a long-running carport ceiling repair, and the lot was full of potholes with striping that looked neglected for years. Our check-in went smoothly, but getting the reservation sorted out was already a bad start. Their website never sent a confirmation after several attempts with different email addresses. When we called, the representative confirmed us but said we had two queen beds instead of the king we’d booked. Not a big deal on its own. Two friends traveling with us had similar online trouble and were told by phone their reservations were confirmed, only to find on arrival that no booking existed. Nearby motels were full because of a local festival, so they ended up reluctantly taking a dated, low-end place in a less desirable area. One day I went to put on my shoes and the chair leg snapped. I weigh 225 pounds and wasn’t being rough with it, so I was surprised. I reported it right away, and the front desk asked me to leave the chair outside the room, which I did. They acknowledged the issue but never brought a replacement. Most of the furniture looked original, so I suspect the chair was simply past its lifespan. After we got home, I found a charge for it on my card. I called to dispute it, but the manager wasn’t available. I left my details and was told they’d call back. Two weeks later, still nothing. There was also a music video playing on the lobby TV behind the desk with content close to pornographic. I’m not easily offended, but that seemed inappropriate for a family-friendly place. It kept a roof over our heads on a busy weekend, though the poor communication, reservation issues, dated facilities, and unresolved charge left me disappointed. You get what you pay for, but even that felt like a letdown.

A pretty standard hotel just off the freeway. The rooms were clean, and the staff were polite and friendly if you felt like chatting. Be nice to them and they’re nice back. We skipped breakfast to try local spots instead, and Bon Vinos is worth checking out if you’re doing the same. We also appreciated that they welcomed dogs without an extra fee. Our room was at the far end of the hall, so getting to the stairs meant a long walk, but you could call it a bit of exercise.

We expected little since this was cheaper than the other hotels, but the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. There was even a microwave and refrigerator, which has been more than I got at pricier places. Making my own waffles was fun too. I’d recommend staying here.

The outside looked rough, and the driveway was in bad shape. Nobody was at the desk when I arrived, just a phone number on the counter to call the clerk. I was assigned an upstairs room, and there’s no elevator. It was almost bare of furniture, and on a hot day the AC started rattling loudly after a few minutes. I called to ask for another room, then had to walk the length of the building and down the stairs to get new keys from the office. The replacement room had much more furniture, but its AC ran without cooling very well. The bathtub’s porcelain was chipped, and the showerhead was so high, at least nine feet, that I couldn’t reach it to change the spray. Towels were small, cheap, and stiff like cardboard. The mattress was okay, though it squeaked whenever I moved.

We’d booked well ahead and had approval for a late check-in on April 26th, 2025. When we arrived, they told us our reservation had been “accidentally” canceled, even though the hotel was full. The desk employee said she didn’t know who had canceled it or why. Later, the third-party booking service contacted that same employee, and her explanation changed: now she blamed a “coworker” and said we’d have to wait for a manager. There were no other hotels available that night. They offered us a pet-friendly room even though we’d told them I’m allergic to dogs. We had no real choice but to stay there, and we had to pay again for a booking that should never have been canceled. We’ve tried several times to reach management and were promised callbacks, but none came. The lack of honesty and accountability was astonishing. If you care about basic service, stay somewhere else. I recommend Best Western, even if it costs a little more, because the service and professionalism are worth it.
