Quality Inn Surfside Myrtle Beach

Breakfast was fine, but the bed mattresses were so hard I couldn't sleep. I folded all the blankets over on the bed and slept on top of them, using my winter coat as a cover. The mattress was terribly hard.

Rooms were cleaned only once a week. Housekeeping also left an old cup, a dirty rag, and a spray bottle of cleaning chemicals. When we asked the morning woman for milk with breakfast, she had an attitude.

The location is perfect, and check-in at the front desk went fine. The second-shift woman was very nice. I wasn't given the room type I'd reserved, but it still slept four, so I didn't think much of it. The room smelled of cigarette smoke when we entered, but I let that go too. The next day, breakfast was subpar. It was messy and nothing had been wiped down. Despite being advertised as a hot breakfast, it was just cold items and some waffles. Later, when I asked for plates or napkins, a bald man in plain clothes said I couldn't have a plate because breakfast was over. He went behind the desk to look for something. Does he even work there? Housekeeping never came to take our trash or bring towels. A first-shift front desk worker came to fix the hairdryer and said she'd return, but didn't. I figured it out myself. I work the front desk at a Choice hotel and know the brand's standards. Sadly, this hotel isn't up to par. Hopefully they fix these things, because the location is great and maybe we could return.

The room was disgusting, with mold all over the bed cover, and the humidifier was really loud. When I complained, the front desk came by and took the cover away, saying the other one was worse. This deserves no stars. We checked out a day early and they wouldn't refund any money. Very poor!
