Residence Inn by Marriott Miami Beach Surfside

The location was great, and the room was clean, but service was just okay. I had to ask four or five times for coffee, towels, and extra bedding before anything was delivered. Kaan at the front desk was pleasant and helpful, which made things a little better. He was great, even though the rest of the service needs work.

There's a fridge and microwave in the clean room, but no stovetop, which cost the place a star. Service ranged from great to moderate depending on who was at the front desk. I still enjoyed the stay, and the beach across the street is easy to get to.

We arrived from our flight at 3 a.m. and found old urine all over the toilet seat. We were too exhausted to return to the desk, and were told the hotel was full so we couldn't change rooms anyway. We reported the dirty room around 9 a.m., but no one came to clean it until nearly 4 p.m. The location was good and the pool was fun, but the elevators were broken. The $17 daily credit was useless since everything cost at least $20, plus a 20% tip, and it took an hour to get a salad. Walking to and from publix was quicker and cheaper. Pros: location, pool, breakfast. Cons: rooms, service, fees.

Parkhi, the hotel manager, made my stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott Miami Beach Surfside feel smooth, even though I ran into a few issues. She listened closely, was understanding from the start, and helped sort everything out quickly. I really appreciated her thoughtful care and the extra effort she put in. Thank you, Parkhi!
