Days Inn Toledo Airport

We booked through hopper and read the rules and restrictions, but they still refused to check us in or give us keys. We had brought our 15 and 13 year olds to swim, and the staff got upset about fire marshels and rules on rooms occupied without adults. They became verbally aggressive toward my kids. Before that, we had to look around the building for someone to check us in because nobody was at the desk for over 15 minutes. We waited another five while both women finished smoking. They then handled the counters and computer without washing their hands. The outside of the rooms was terribly maintained too. Almost a week later, the refund still hadn’t come through. These people were unprofessional and disrespectful, and I wouldn’t recommend the place, especially with wonderful hotels in the same parking lot. Thankfully hopper came through in the end 😊

The room was inexpensive and did what I needed it to. Staff were nice, the location was great, and breakfast was good. They’re renovating: the hall carpets have been replaced, and the rooms they’re working on look like they’re getting a thorough job, so maybe it’ll be a nicer place later. Mine had stained sheets with burn holes, though, and hair in the tub.

Everything else was great: the room and sheets were really clean, the bathroom smelled fresh, and breakfast was simple. The drawback was hearing the jets take off from the airport in the morning, so I wouldn’t suggest it if you need to sleep late.

The fresh paint smell and what looked like new tile and carpet gave me hope at first, and maybe things will improve once the remodeling is done. Right now the place is under construction. My room felt like a college dorm, with no bed frame and the box springs sitting right on the floor. The comforter smelled of cigarettes even though the property is said to be all non-smoking. Outlets had no covers, and the window shades were thin temporary stick-ons. I also had to replace the toilet paper roll, and brown liquid came out of the holder when I took it off. Gross.
