Best Western Plus Sweetwater Inn & Suites

The breakfast was nearly over when we got there, but with an hour still left they’d already run out of most of the food. The comforter had blood stains, and when I showed the front desk a photo, they argued that the stains were fresh. They also claimed I hadn’t mentioned our two service dogs, though I had, then drilled me with questions about them. I felt like I was being interrogated instead of checking out. I don’t recommend this hotel.

The room was huge and clean, but we wouldn’t stay again. The bed creaked constantly, enough to make us worry the frame might break and leave us on the floor. Light came through the top, bottom, and sides of the door because it was too small for its frame. The elevator door kept getting stuck open, and a housekeeper had to kick it to get it working. That didn’t feel safe. Breakfast was meant to run until 9:30am, but the hot food was gone before 9am and wasn’t replenished. I’d also been told on the phone that the pool was heated and the hot tub was available. When we arrived, both were closed for the season. Do better.

The hotel itself was really good, with no issues. Jessica also helped me sort out a problem involving a coworker who needed another room. It wasn’t a hotel issue, but she handled it with professionalism, a great attitude, and real attention to detail. She listened and helped, which is hard to come by these days. Best Western should commend her.

The breakfast buffet was fine, though nothing special, and there wasn’t any salsa for the eggs. The mattress was comfortable, but the pillows were the usual fluffy kind with no neck support. Highway noise and train whistles were more noticeable than I’d have liked.
