The location was the only thing we liked. Our two-room suite had a strange odor, the window A/C unit had no plug, and the bathrooms clearly hadn’t been swept in a while. There aren’t coffee pots in the rooms, and the hotel wouldn’t even consider offering coffee before 6 a.m., though we needed to leave around then. The place felt more like a hotel renting by the hour than a normal extended-stay property. It was bad enough that after our 12-hour day, we drove home instead of staying the extra night we’d booked.
Debbie is a favorite of mine. She’s so kind and makes sure you’re taken care of. The daytime team is excellent and very professional, and manager JD is great as well. The location is good for the price, and I’ve been staying here while working six nights a week, often 9 or 10 hours after starting at 2 p.m. I hope this honest review doesn’t affect how I’m treated there. The biggest problem is the roaches. Keep food tightly stored and your room clean, which helps a lot. Trash gets left inside and outside, and guests leave the outside door open for their friends to come and go, which feels unsafe. Parking can be hard to find when other guests have people over to party in the lot. There’s loud music, shouting, and yelling late at night, and it scares my cat. The night staff, especially the woman, don’t seem to care and are usually partying out there with them. For stays longer than a week, bring roach spray and your own cleaning supplies, and use a nearby laundromat. Even when the washers and dryers are available, they’re filthy inside and leave clothes dirtier, yet cost too much. Housekeeping isn’t reliable: rooms don’t get cleaned unless you request it days ahead, keep reminding them, and even then the housekeeper may give you an attitude or forget. Returning from work to find nowhere to park and garbage around is stressful and rude.
The pullout couch mattress was dirty, with used blankets, little toys, potato chip crumbs, and even a diaper inside when we opened it. There was no extra bedding for the sofa bed, and the room had no pots, pans, dishes, or silverware. I decided to leave, and they were nice about refunding me.
The breakfast was mostly awful packaged food, often wasn’t ready at the stated time, and even coffee was missing more than once. The rooms are cleaned only weekly. We found a roach on day two of our five-night stay, another on day three, then five different-sized ones on the last day. A spider startled my kid coming out of the bathroom. There was also a staff member selling or smoking weed with guests. He seemed nice enough, but spent so much time on that that I wished he’d put some effort into cleaning the doors. On our last night, there was a domestic violence incident across the hall, with doors banging and heavy footsteps all night. Between the staff, cleanliness, and amenities, this was a disgusting choice of hotel. I’ll never stay here again.
I woke up sweaty in the middle of the night when the ill-fitting fitted sheet came off, leaving me on the plastic sheet. The room was foul, dirty, and smelled awful. A broken bathroom towel bar, worn furniture, and even a dirty TV added to the impression that nothing was properly cleaned. There was dirt and smudging everywhere, and what looked like fecal matter on the bathroom wall. The bad smell was compounded by construction materials piled in the hallway and a broken window. Gross.
