Hilton Garden Inn Tacoma Downtown

The room was spacious, clean, and had a great view, so that part of the stay was fine. We were disappointed that there was no pool. Google's photos are old, and we had been looking forward to swimming with the family. The front desk couldn't help us cancel the second night so we could find a hotel with a pool. I suppose that's understandable, and they said people often assume there's a pool. They really need to update Google. The bellhop carts were atrocious, and moving our things between the car and room was hilarious, though we laughed it off. The restaurant was just okay. Try Tim's down the block instead.

The air conditioning in our room didn't work, and the night became unbearably hot. By 2:00 AM, we couldn't sleep. We had planned an anniversary celebration, so this was a complete disappointment. When I told the guest services manager the next morning, I got a dismissive apology and nothing else. No effort to fix the problem or offer compensation for a night that was effectively ruined. For the price and brand, I expected working climate control and professional service. We got neither.

I've been staying here regularly for work over the past few months, and Allianah is the main reason I keep coming back. Her service has made each visit remarkable. The rooms are always spotless, and the amenities consistently go beyond what I expect. This hotel has made my work trips memorable.

The free room upgrade was amazing, and the service was nice. The rooms were just fine. I wasn't happy about paying for parking or having no breakfast. There was construction going on at all hours, and the neighborhood felt sketchy.
