The room was a decent size and fairly quiet, but the shower was awful. The head was broken: barely any water came from most of it, while the part that did work sprayed so hard it hurt my skin. Rinsing shampoo and soap took about three times as long as it should have, and the tiny old bathroom light was so dim it made the whole thing even more miserable. I first tried to leave a generous review after our Oildorado stay, focusing on the few positives. Then, once we were back home in another state, I realized I'd left a new, beautiful $75 blouse on the bed. I'd bought it for the occasion and had worn it just once for a couple of hours at a special event. I called the office. A woman said she'd look into it, but days passed with no word. When we called again, a man said he knew nothing but would check and get back to us. A couple more days went by, still no reply. On our third call, the woman said they hadn't found it. When I asked why they hadn't even given us a courtesy call after we'd contacted them twice, she said they hadn't found it. The blouse really was left in the room, so I hope the new owner enjoys their stolen possession. Be aware you could lose your belongings if you stay here.

After years of visiting family in Taft, I chose a hotel for the holidays this year and picked the right one. The reception desk was very nice, and the place is so clean. I'll come back.

The heater startled me when it kicked on, which was my only complaint. Otherwise it was quiet, clean and spacious, with good showers, a fridge, couch, and breakfast offerings. The female worker was friendly. There's a burger and breakfast place next door, and a bakery, taco spots, and grocery store about a ten-minute walk away.

For a hotel out in the middle of nowhere, they do pretty good business, and I can see why. The owners are a lovely couple who bought it two years ago and have made it better. My room was clean, the beds and pillows were comfortable, the shower had great water pressure, and the TV was large and new. In the morning there were assorted pastries, fresh bananas, and coffee. I booked because of the reviews and wasn't let down. I'll stay again next time I'm in the area.

It's in a quiet spot a few blocks off the main road, with eating places relatively nearby. The room had plenty of space, everything worked, and the WiFi was good. There's an AC, blackout curtains for sleeping late, a TV I didn't use, a microwave, and a small fridge. Decor is minimal, and parking is somewhat limited.
