Swiss Alaska Inn

The owners are a big part of why I keep coming back. They give to the community, volunteer, and have even opened their home to children who needed somewhere to live. I feel good spending my money here. And the food is delicious every time, with coffee that's always brewed just right. After four years living in town, this is still my favorite breakfast spot. Don't skip it!

The river was beautiful, and the town was quaint and easy to explore on foot. There’s also a handy path through the woods that cuts through to town. In room 21 downstairs, the bathroom was spacious and the room itself was very clean, though it had a noticeable smell, maybe from ammonia used during cleaning. The curtains didn’t cover the whole window or block the light, so we used a towel to cover the gaps for privacy. At breakfast the next morning, Alicia was slow and not very friendly, but the portions were large enough that we’d probably share next time.

The plates and cups at The Swiss are always full of great food and coffee. Even if they ran out, I’d still come for the people. Signed, a TKA resident who visits The Swiss often.

The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were warm and friendly. They took our late arrival in stride. Talkeetna is a lovely town and a unique experience, and staying at The Swiss made it even better. We’re already looking forward to coming back. Than you.
