There are new owners now, but when I left my room on 1/6/2021 to spend a few days with my friend, I had paid through February 3rd 2021. While I was away, they packed up my belongings and rented the room to someone else, without refunding any of my money. The water kept going out, and there were roaches and sex offenders there. Don't stay here.

This was the worst place I've stayed. The owner is a drug addict with a gambling problem, and he lies and steals. Rooms are nasty. The man in room 8, a sex predator, cleans them, but only makes the beds instead of putting on clean sheets. Sewage is pumped into the woods behind 11, and cold water comes out brown. At night, the owner walks around peeking in windows. When people go out, he may go through their rooms and belongings, and steal anything nice. Most people staying there are drug dealers. The guy in room 7 lies and curses at people and kids outside for talking or playing, because he thinks he runs the place. He and his wife cause problems for other people, but the owner is scared of them and lets them do whatever they want. During the hurricane last year, he let people sleep in Uhauls for 50 dollars or more. He also rents Uhauls off the books, and people have been pulled over because the trucks weren't recorded as rented on the computer. Be careful if you stop there. You might not make it out alive. It's a joke of a hotel. Run as far away as you can.

When I turned on the lights at check-in, thousands of roaches scattered. I saw bed bugs, different kinds of cockroaches, and cardboard or plywood covering the windows. The man who checked me in handed me pesticide and said I might need to spray for bugs. I only went farther inside to take photos so others could see the motel's condition. I was a victim of Hurricane Michael in North Florida on October 11th 2018, and my home was a total loss. Hotels nearby were booked because people were already evacuating, so rooms were hard to find. The room was advertised at a normal price of $45 plus tax, but that night I was charged $105 plus tax. There was also a $50 security deposit because I had my chiweenie, an 8 lb diabetic service animal who, by Florida law, had to be allowed to stay with me. When I asked for a refund, I was told the room was non-refundable. The man threatened to have me trespassed if I kept complaining. I was in tears after losing everything, and this was the only place available. I wouldn't bring what little property I had left inside, or bathe or sleep in that disgusting, potentially contagious room. The man who checked me in even suggested putting toilet paper in my ears and nostrils so bugs wouldn't lay eggs inside me while I slept. I'm not joking. This is the honest truth, and I never knew things like this happened in real life. I'm mortified that the agencies responsible for sanitation are allowing this to continue. I've reported it and sent photographs to the Department of Health, Department of Environmental Protection, the Better Business Bureau, and the State Licensing committee for hotels and innkeepers. Please never go to this motel.

The mattresses in all the rooms come from dumpsters, and rooms 1, 2, 3, and 15 have bedbugs and roaches. The owner drains sewage into the woods behind 11 and keeps doing it despite having been reported. At night, he gets high and walks around looking into rooms, takes people's belongings, then claims the things are his and they stole from him. His line is that it's his place and he can do whatever he wants, and if people don't like it, they can leave. A drug dealer could break into your room, or Jim could. The owner is jim lu. He's on probation for credit card fraud, has been arrested four times just this last year, and does dope, lies, and steals. There are two stolen black mopads bikes out back behind 8, belonging to someone who rented a room. I wouldn't want my worst enemy to stay there. Find somewhere else.
