Econo Lodge Tallahassee I-10 near University

We canceled the Econolodge room and had to stay at another hotel. We arrived around 10 p.m. with three exhausted, sleepy kids after a four-hour drive, needing one night in Tallahassee for Hill Day. We had booked online on the way. The room was nasty and smelled horrible, and the two queen beds we'd paid for turned out to be two double beds. The front desk clerk was a trainee and took forever to check us in. Then, instead of refunding my payment, the clerk charged my card a second time and reversed only one of the charges. Possibly the worst hotel room I've ever booked. I would never recommend this hotel.

I was traveling alone and stayed two nights. People outside my room at night who weren't hotel guests made me feel unsafe, so I checked out early and clearly told the front desk why. They explicitly assured me I wouldn't be charged for the extra night. Once I got home, I found that I had been charged after all. I contacted the hotel to correct it, but the front desk said they knew nothing about what happened. Customer service gave me the same response. No one acknowledged the earlier promise or took responsibility for fixing the issue. The lack of communication, accountability, and concern for guest safety was extremely disappointing. I wouldn't stay here or recommend it in the future.

The price was perfect, and the room was okay for what I paid. The only problem was that the bed, sheets, pillows, and chair smelled bad. Otherwise the room wasn't bad, and the cleaning lady was very nice.

They wanted a $100 deposit for a room that was already dirty, then seemed to do everything they could to keep it. I was told that if someone came to visit, they would keep the deposit and the visitor would have to leave the property. They watched us and acted strangely. Breakfast was only coffee and juice, and the location wasn’t good. I’m platinum, but I just wanted to check out. This was my first and last time staying here, and I’ll never come back. Don’t stay here.
