The Capitol Inn Tallahassee

We put our out-of-town guests in six of the ten rooms for a family event, and everyone had a clean, comfortable, cozy room with its own decor. The common spaces were welcoming and easy for guests to reach. Drinks and snacks were available in the well-stocked kitchen throughout the day. The Inn Keeper was especially helpful and engaging at every turn, which reassured us that we’d picked the right place. It’s a real jewel in the community, and we recommend it without hesitation. Five-plus in every category.

I was sad to leave, and I’d absolutely come back. Destin was cozy, clean, nicely decorated, and the bed was really comfortable. I liked getting tea from the shared kitchen and taking it to the park across the street in the morning. They had coffee, tea, soft drinks, water, pastries, bagels, and snacks, too. A few things made the stay less comfortable: traffic could be loud at night, and cars seemed to linger at Whataburger past 2am with music and bass. I used a sound machine on my phone to cover it. The host took more than four hours to reply, so guest calls and texts could use quicker handling. There was no bedroom fan or AC control, and the heat came on around 7am. It was Halloween weekend and chilly outside, but not cold enough to need heat.

I found this inn while coming back from a family emergency. I was worn out emotionally and physically, and the warm, homey feeling was exactly what I needed. The bed was super comfortable, the park was nice for a morning walk, and the staff paid close attention. I’ll stay again and recommend it to everyone.

The Inn is beautiful inside and out, and I had a relaxing stay. My room had everything I needed, with coffee, drinks, snacks, and use of the fridge or microwave available. It’s easy to get to, there’s parking, and it’s in a very good location. I could hear cars outside and the man next door snored all night, though. I’d still come back.
