The room was clean, comfortable, and smelled nice, including the linens. There were some things needing attention, like a crooked door and a loose shower fixture, plus a few other small maintenance issues. The AC could switch between hot and cold, which I needed, and was quiet. I actually need white noise to sleep, though, and could hear a man outside talking loudly or arguing, so I used a white-noise app on my phone. The grounds and lobby looked nice, check-in was friendly and easy, and checkout was simple too, just dropped off the key cards. I booked this after prices elsewhere jumped by more than $100 from last year. My agency wanted to keep costs down, and this was over $200 less than the hotel I used last year. I worried a bit after reading reviews, but it turned out decent, better than I expected after those reviews, though nothing special. Breakfast was free but very generic: cereal was out, and there were biscuits and gravy, link sausages, yogurt, and juice. Still, better than nothing. I'd stay again, depending on the alternatives. This was about $65 compared with over $250 for a nicer hotel, so it isn't a like-for-like comparison. For the price, I'd call it three stars. If I'd paid $250, I'd be angry and this review would be scathing. I'd rather save $200 and accept fewer niceties.

The desk clerk was polite and efficient, which was the one good part. We got in very late and couldn't reasonably go elsewhere, so we stayed, then left early the next morning. The room was in such poor shape that we skipped the continental breakfast. It needs a real cleaning and updating. There was hallway trash when we arrived, still there in the morning. The bathroom had mildew, a dirty floor, a backed-up sink, and a toilet seat that wobbled because it wasn't secured properly. The AC didn't cool the room, and of two wall sconces only one worked. The overhead light by the door didn't brighten the room enough.

Old place, and the repairs were pretty rough, but the bed was really comfortable. Front desk staff were friendly and professional. Fine for a night.

The person checking us in was very nice, but the rooms need work. We noticed gaps around doors in several rooms as we walked by, not only ours. Our door had a large peephole that was basically just an open hole, so someone outside could easily look into the room.
