Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Tallahassee Central Hotel

The building exteriors look nice, but the rooms are old and our experience was pretty poor. The Wi-Fi TV didn’t work at all, and the room smelled of smoke. The window was open. There are plenty of other places for the same money.

It’s quiet, the beds are comfortable, and there’s a nice Greek restaurant next door. The hotel is pet friendly, with a waste station, and they gave our pup a dog treat at check-in. Breakfast was good and plentiful, and the coffee was excellent. The pet fee is $75. It’s close to I-10.

Breakfast was bland, and the eggs were inedible. I chose this hotel over another Ramada nearby because of the advertised “hot breakfast,” but it fell well short of what I expected. The room temperature was also hard to manage. The thermostat and unit either blasted cold air or left the room too warm, with no comfortable middle setting. We stayed three nights at the Fairfield Inn – Marriott Tallahassee, and each evening the room was untouched. On the last night, I asked the front desk why it hadn’t been serviced. Only then did they tell me daily housekeeping isn’t provided. That was never explained when booking, and there were no signs in the room or way to request service. I’ve never run into that policy before. The front desk response, “You’re paying for a room, not service,” was shockingly dismissive. I understand hotels are cutting costs, but unclear policies and indifferent treatment make it hard to justify returning. I’ll contact corporate and don’t recommend this hotel unless management changes its policies and customer service.

We checked in on 11/18/2025 and looked over the room before unpacking. Under the mattress cover, we found what was definitely blood. As we were leaving, we showed the on-duty manager the same photos I posted. He seemed nonchalant and said he understood why we were checking out. They did refund us, which was the only good part. This place was so gross. Just skip it.
