The bed was comfortable, the room stayed warm, and the rain shower had plenty of hot water. Everything was very clean, and the place was peaceful the night we stayed. Someone has done a beautiful job reworking this old property and saving it from blight. We had snacks and candy while settling in to watch the football game. Our team lost, but choosing the Bischoff Inn still felt like a win. The innkeeper answered our question quickly, and we’d happily book here again.

The Bischoff Suite gave me plenty of space and amenities to relax during my stay, and the whole place is thoughtfully run with top-notch design. It was a cut above other places I’ve stayed in Pennsylvania. The Inn is close to Tamaqua’s main streets for food and shopping, and well placed for exploring the area, including Jim Thorpe or the Mahoning Drive-In. I was here through the “Micro-Residency” initiative and had an incredible experience. I’d recommend the residency, and would gladly stay again when visiting or passing through.

The neighborhood felt residential, quiet, and quaint. We didn’t have time to visit local eateries or pubs, but the room’s recommendation book had plenty of useful suggestions. For a trip to Jim Thorpe, it’s about a 15 minute drive, with better parking and amenities. Inside, everything was very clean, from the rooms to the high end hotel quality toiletries and bedding. The rooms have their own tasteful style, and I especially liked the books in the Conrad room. There’s also a nicely decorated common area, with tea, coffee, and snacks. Such a cute inn.

The lobby had great little extras, including snacks and a nice variety of teas, and the detailed local guide was a thoughtful touch. In the junior suite, we had lots of room and appreciated the design and small details. The exposed brick, antique bed, and art gave it a lot of character. It made for a lovely, memorable stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

The Inn feels thoughtfully put together, with a historic, distinctive interior and comfortable rooms. It’s right in town and close to Jim Thorpe. We loved staying at the Bischoff Inn, and will definitely return. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting PA.
