Hampton Inn & Suites Ft. Lauderdale West-Sawgrass/Tamarac

We were stranded in Miami when bad weather back home delayed our flight, and an emergency at the airport had left us shaken. Exhausted and looking for somewhere to stay, I found this hotel. Rohan assured me check-in would go smoothly, and he was really pleasant. Rohan, Michael, and the staff were awesome and accommodating, making sure everything went well. I'll definitely stay here again. Thanks for looking after the customers.

I was in town for a family emergency, and came back to the hotel around 9pm on Sat, Jan 24th. While reaching for my phone charger in the bed, I found a small insect that looked like a bed bug. This was incredibly stressful, since it could mean throwing away clothes or laundering everything on very high heat. I'm a biologist, and the photo I uploaded to iNaturalist, which includes the date, time, and location, came back as a bed bug with 86% confidence. I also checked with the r/bedbugs subreddit and a colleague who's a wildlife biologist with entomology experience. They all gave positive IDs. I put my belongings in trash bags and drove over an hour to another family member's house to deal with the situation. At the front desk I showed the photos, but the hotel acted as if they had never heard of bed bugs or didn't know what they were. A maintenance person came to look and took the bug down to the front desk; they said the pest company would have to come inspect it. I stripped the sheets and checked the mattresses without seeing any other bed bugs. Still, this one had to come from somewhere, and they can live in wall outlets or behind headboards too. I asked for a refund for Friday night because of the inconvenience, and they refused. The manager insists he never saw the bug and implied I was making it up. I know the maintenance person or manager disposed of the evidence, and they didn't want to deal with the issue. They were rude. If they'd acknowledged the situation and handled it better, I would've felt better about it. I've stayed at Hiltons for a long time, travel for work, and use their points, but now I'll switch to another chain.

I've stayed at many hotels, including countless Hampton Inns, and travel a ton, but this location will stick with me. The service was outstanding, from the woman at the front desk to the maintenance person who happened to be walking by in the hallway. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. I usually don't sleep well away from my family, but I had a great night's sleep here. It's hard to find a place with truly exceptional guest service these days, and this location nailed it. Whatever you're doing, keep it up. Thank you.

Service was good, and when the A/C gave us trouble, maintenance came quickly and fixed it. Thank you, Luc. I picked this Hampton Suites because of the location, and it was my first time staying with the brand. The hotel was still being remodeled in January 2026. Our large king room with a sofa bed seemed only partly renovated, and the kitchenette cabinets were very worn. The room was clean, but I could feel the mattress coils, and the pillows weren't the best. It's not quite in great shape yet, but hopefully it will get there.
