I rarely write reviews, but this hotel really upset me. I paid a deposit on February 25 for a stay at In-Town Suites (8191 West Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, FL 33351) from February 27 to March 6. When I arrived at 11 a.m. on check-in day, the desk told me there was no room, even though I’d already paid and was counting on staying there with my 70-year-old father. I didn’t argue. I asked if anything might open later, and the young woman said probably not, so I left to find somewhere else for us. As I was getting into my car, the front desk woman called to say she could get us a room at 2 p.m. I asked if the rate would stay the same, and she said yes. I agreed and went to run errands. When I came back at 2, another woman told me there was no space. I explained that I had spoken to someone earlier who said a room was available. She rudely replied that they had no vacancy because the room had been extended. Why take my deposit and tell me twice there would be a room if that wasn’t true? No one called or sent a message to let me know, so I drove there twice just to be turned away. Her excuse was, “sorry that person was on break.” This place is a joke. I didn’t even bother asking for the property manager, since I’m sure they wouldn’t care either.

This is one of the nicest extended-stay places in the area. The property is well cared for, the staff are respectful, and the men who look after the grounds do good work. There’s laundry on site, and the vending machines are cheaper than nearby stores and gas stations, with fresh items.
The service was terrible, and the manager, Jessica, was horrible. I wish they would fire her and the housekeeping woman after the way they treated me and my 3-year-old autistic child. They kicked us out just before Christmas 2023 because I was cooking food for him and didn’t want the cleaning woman spraying chemicals over it. They seem to kick many people out so they can’t stay long-term for months or years. People do drugs there, and there have been overdoses and deaths in rooms. There was mold and roaches too. Trust me, you don’t want to stay there.
The desk was closed when I arrived to check in, and the security guard could only express sympathy. At 10:30 p.m., I had to find another hotel near Sawgrass (Everglades) Mall.
I’ve been here for a week and may need to stay three more. The room is clean, the General Manager and staff respond quickly, and the property feels safe. There’s on-site laundry at a reasonable price and plenty of parking. For the weekly rate, it’s a good deal.
