We left deeply upset and disappointed that these problems overshadowed such a special weekend. Debris fell from the ceiling in our room, and we later found what appeared to be bed bugs in the bed. The condition and maintenance of the hotel raised serious concerns, and no guest should have to question whether their sleeping space is clean and safe. We were there for a wedding and had reserved our room well in advance, but on arrival we were told it had been given away. Staff were dismissive and unaccommodating, and only tried to help after I became visibly upset and insisted on speaking with management. The lack of urgency and the ongoing problems added needless stress for the bride and wedding party during an important occasion that should have been joyful and relaxed. For a hotel with the Grand Hyatt name and reputation, this was shocking. The poor service, lack of professionalism, questionable room conditions, and disregard for guests at a once-in-a-lifetime event made this one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had. I strongly advise anyone considering a visit, especially for a wedding or special event, to think twice.

The lobby is beautiful, and the restaurant was pleasant, with attentive staff. Breakfast was excellent and definitely one of the best parts of the stay. But regular guests can feel like an afterthought when the hotel seems focused on events and conferences on the first floor. It gives the impression that event operations come before guest comfort. The rooms look old, and the hotel needs renovation and modernization. The pools are small, with almost no outdoor amenities or places to relax. Parking can be a headache, too. There are only a limited number of spaces on level two of the parking tower. The ceiling clearance means SUVs and larger vehicles can’t use the third floor, leaving the second level extremely crowded and sometimes hard to park in. There are good points here, especially the lobby and food, but the hotel needs to pay more attention to room quality, guest comfort, and convenience.

We hadn’t been this excited about a hotel room in a long time. The casitas are private, villa-style bungalows set among lush mangroves, so it feels like getting away without traveling far. Charles was very helpful when we checked in, and all our requests were granted. Our CasItas king bed room was modern, clean, and comfortable. Grand Hyatt Tampa checked all the boxes we wanted for this getaway.

We stayed one night for the BTS concert, and I loved seeing the BTS ARMY photobooth backdrop at the entrance. After the show, we got back late and quickly picked up food and drinks at the bar to take to our room. The food was delicious, though the menu is kind of pricey. My husband and I had a spacious, comfortable king room. The provided toiletries are Balmain product. The shower floor was so slippery it felt dangerous. There’s an anti slip mat, but it doesn’t cover the whole floor, so getting in and out was a little scary. We self parked for $30. Valet parking is also available. There are two Tesla destination chargers for guests, which we’d planned to use, but we were so tired after the concert that we didn’t feel like looking for them. We’d stay again, just with caution in the bathroom, lol.

Jane always makes us feel like family at breakfast, and the service is great every time. We live nearby and come back several times a year, sometimes for a weekend and sometimes on a random weekday. The rooms are consistently spotless, the decor feels relaxing, and we’ve even had fantastic room upgrades. Best staycation ever.
