Taylor at the front desk has the sort of confidence, warmth, and professionalism I hope for when I travel. She was attentive and handled everything so well that she stands out among the many service experiences I've had. Her manner reflects very well on the hotel. I'd be glad to have someone like her on my own team. Well done.

I was in town for an event at Raymond James Stadium, so the hotel's proximity worked well. My room was clean and ready, with the basic setup I'd expect for a two-bed room with hookups. I noticed a cafeteria-style hutch just past the check-in desk, though I didn't try it before or after the game. The part I didn't care for was vehicle check-in: I had to scan a QR code and enter details through a link, with parking and fees apparently handled by a third party using a camera. That could have been dealt with at the desk. I'm unsure whether it would stop me from returning, but it is something I'd consider.

The room was spotless, including the floors and bathroom, but it had a really stale, funky smell, like an old man had lived there without bathing since Eisenhower was president. I was exhausted and staying only one night, so I didn't go back down to ask for another room. I showered and shampooed right before leaving so I wouldn't carry that smell with me. There was also visible wear around the room, including on the inside of the bathroom door. The staff, though, were wonderful. The woman who checked me in was incredibly good with people. She had a line behind me and had just dealt with a man who could test anyone's patience, yet she stayed pleasant and made me feel as if she was glad to see me and had all the time in the world. Breakfast was another disappointment. I usually stay at Hampton Inns, where breakfast is included and they often have a make-your-own waffle machine. Here the buffet costs $20, and seemed just like a Hampton Inn buffet except the waffle iron was replaced by a big open bucket of cottage cheese. Ugh.

Everyone I met seemed genuinely happy to help, even though there were too many names for me to remember them all. The airport shuttle was convenient, and they also gave us free rides to other nearby areas. Taylor and Steve made check-in and checkout easy and welcoming. At breakfast, Radika and Kevin were lovely, and Todd went out of his way to help us get what we needed for the physician group meeting at the hotel. Jimmy and Magda made the bar a great place to be. I'd stay here again. Thanks to all of you, keep smiling, your kindness makes a difference.
