Masters Inn - Tampa Fairgrounds

For the price, it was great. The room was nice and clean, the water was hot, and the air worked. The front desk was efficient and cordial. Just know there’s no coffee pot, and it’s really noisy because it’s so close to i4. I heard motorcycles and semi trucks all night.

We had some trouble at check-in, but that was our fault, and the front desk attendant kindly helped us sort it out. The stay was decent and convenient for the location, and I don’t expect luxury from a motel 6. I’d read a lot of reviews about bugs and thought we’d avoided them, but I spotted three the day before leaving. That wouldn’t have been a huge deal except my partner has a bug phobia. It was definitely distressing, especially when a roach crawled onto their side of the bed on the headboard.

My favorite place to stay around Tampa. The rooms are clean, and the staff are always pleasant and helpful. Nick at the front desk gave great service. I highly recommend it.

My mom and I stayed two days after walking into a smoking room that smelled. They told me the smell meant we wouldn’t get our deposit back and that I could talk to management. When I called, the manager said to call back after 3 and he’d tell me if we owed more, but that the deposit wasn’t coming back.
