SpringHill Suites Tampa Westshore Airport

After a 10 hour flight, I rarely bother reviewing a one-night hotel stay, but this SpringHill Suites was comfortable and easy to reach from the airport. John from New York and the man from Ireland whose name I’ve unfortunately forgotten were both helpful, accommodating, and lovely to chat with. It was an easy, comfortable stay, a short Uber ride from the airport, and a good price. I’d recommend it if you need a place before or after traveling.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and nice, and breakfast was the usual Marriott kind. Cleanliness was average. I’m picky about showers and hate finding someone else’s hair, though otherwise the room was fine. The place feels tired. The brown, gloomy look seems stuck around the mid-70s, and it needs a facelift, a redesign, or at least some color. Even though I care most about a clean room, the worn look made it feel old and used.

For the local rate, this worked well enough for business trips. I’ve stayed a few times and would be fine coming back for one or two nights. Rooms are spacious and clean, and there are USB-C connections. The hotel feels dark and dated, especially the bathroom and shower, which need better lighting. There was bar soap but none of the little extras like lotion or makeup remover. Breakfast was included, with coffee, hot food, and waffles. The staff were friendly and kept the lobby and breakfast area clean and stocked. Parking costs extra and was barely adequate.

I was there from Saturday to Sunday for the BTS concert and had a great time. The staff were attentive and friendly, and made me feel welcome the whole stay. Breakfast was pretty good, with a nice range of choices. I’d definitely consider staying again.
