The Westshore Grand, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Tampa

The Food and Beverage Manager really made our visit. She was engaging, and we enjoyed chatting with her. Breakfast was delicious, especially the buffet and eggs Benedict, and the coffee was very good too. We got there really early, and the hotel kept our luggage while they got the room ready. The location is handy for the airport, with a mall directly across the street and a Publix just on the other side. There's also a movie theater, lots of places to eat, and shopping within walking distance. Highly recommend!

The hotel was nice and in a great area, but the front desk staff were rude. I booked because the listing showed a pool, but there isn't one and there was no online notice about it. When I called to ask, the woman at the desk sounded annoyed and hung up. The manager never followed up. Housekeeping banged on my door at 9am to ask if I was checking out, even though checkout wasn't until 11. I only stay with Marriot, but I won't return to this one.

The rooms were immaculate, the bathrooms clean, and my room was cleaned every day with fresh towels. The staff greeted us each morning, and they even gave my family and me complimentary breakfast. I can't wait to stay here again. Most of all, Shay at the front desk went out of her way to help when my autistic son, my husband, and I were in a horrible jam with Priceline. She's an amazing person, heaven sent, and I'll always be grateful. The rest of the staff were wonderful too. If I could bring people like them everywhere, I'd be stress-free. Westshore grand is hands down the best place ever, and if you get greeted by SHAY, you won't be disappointed.

The layout and location are appealing, and it was convenient having my company's office in the same building. Staff were hospitable and met Marriott standards. But the hotel feels outdated and needs substantial renovation. The parking garage elevators barely worked and seemed to do whatever they wanted. The plumbing was disgusting: brown water came out of a faucet in my room, and several lobby bathrooms smelled like sewage. Some outlets in my room had no covers. This place has potential, but these problems need fixing before it comes close to Marriott standards.
