It’s in a great tucked-away spot, with shops and restaurants close by and most within walking distance. I felt safe there, which matters a lot when I’m traveling alone. My room was amazing, beautifully decorated and very clean, with really comfy beds. The young women at the desk were friendly and helpful. I loved my stay so much that I’m going back. Great hotel, you won’t be disappointed!

Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of choices, and the dining area was beautiful with a fire. A kind woman even came over to refill my husband’s coffee, which we’d never had happen at a continental breakfast. The cook was working hard and was very nice. We also liked the pet-friendly setup, with lots of nice grass for pets, and felt our vehicle was safe even with a sled on the back. Our room was nice and the fireplace was great. At check-in one evening, we were offered free cookies and chips with salsa, and the woman at the desk was the sweetest. We enjoyed our stay so much that this will be our Taos hotel from now on!

The outdoor setup is lovely, with plenty of parking and a park-like property with grills, picnic spots, gardens, shady areas, and room for kids to run around. There’s also a nice pool and hot tub. My classic New Mexican-style room was clean, well appointed, and maintained, and the bed was very comfortable. It’s an easy walk to Taos plaza, local attractions, and restaurants. Breakfast was outstanding, with lots of hot and cold options, biscuits and gravy, plenty of juice, and good coffee. All the employees were friendly, helpful, and professional. We stayed 4/9/26 and will stay here again when we return to Taos.

The room was fantastic and very clean, and I liked having a porch with chairs outside. I just wish I’d had more time to try the breakfast buffet, maybe next time I’m in the area. The main problems were that there was no hot water, so I couldn’t shower, and my room was way at the very back where nobody could see it, which felt like a safety issue. There was also a huge spider that disappeared disturbingly fast for its size and was never seen again. Still, it was a nice place.

We’ve stayed at several places in Taos over the years, and El Pueblo Lodge is my favorite by far. My friend and I had a great three-night stay in a second-floor room with two queens, and everything exceeded expectations. The beds were comfortable, and both the room and property had a charming New Mexico feel. The location worked especially well for our trip to Taos Ski Valley, about 30 minutes away, and it’s close to restaurants and the main part of town. The complimentary breakfast deserves a mention too. There was an excellent spread every morning, much better than at similar places. If you want a wood-burning fireplace, be sure to request one when you book, since they’re not in every room. The outdoor hot tub stays open year-round, while the pool closes in winter. I highly recommend El Pueblo Lodge and will absolutely stay here again.
