The evening clerk, who I think was named Marjorie, made a stressful situation much easier. My disabled daughter wasn’t doing well, so I left the parking lot and went to the desk to finish booking through my Choice Hotels app. Marjorie went out of her way to find us the last accessible room, then offered to bring up anything we needed so I could focus on getting my daughter out of her chair and settled. A1 customer service, and she handled it all with a smile. The shower was great, with nice hot water, and the room and bed were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good too, though the eggs could’ve used some salt. There were plenty of tables, and the breakfast area was kept clean.

The staff were great, check-in and checkout were easy, and I felt safe. There are lots of restaurants and gas stations nearby, which was a big plus. I was there for work for almost a week, and finding a reasonably priced hotel around St. Louis with decent reviews is tough. It was a decent stay, though I had a few room complaints. I mentioned them when checking out, and the hotel seemed gracious about it. I’m listing them in case they don’t get fixed. The air conditioner leaked enough that I tracked water across the floor near the window. Eventually I saw water coming from the unit, and quite a bit had collected under the floorboards. The room was also very dusty, especially the wall above the beds, and there were cobwebs in the corners. I felt itchier in bed than usual, but I’m not sure if it was the dust or something used to launder the sheets. I didn’t find bedbugs, thankfully, but did see a couple of ants, one on the wall and another, possibly the same one, in a bed. The door had no latch. Nobody came in, but having one would’ve made me feel more secure. Breakfast was OK. I’m not that picky, and the issues weren’t enough to make me leave.

The pool was an added bonus, and my daughter enjoyed it. It’s not huge, but it does the job. Staff were very nice, breakfast was adequate, and the room was clean with no bugs. It could’ve used a good dusting, but I’m not picky about hotels. Clean and bug-free, and this one met both.

For travelers like us who just need somewhere to sleep before getting back on the road, this basic hotel worked fine. We were on vacation and passing through, though I wouldn’t pick it for a long stay unless I were here on business. The guy who checked us in was especially nice, helpful, and fun to chat with. The room was OK, but the air smelled musty and one bed had a stain. We’re pretty relaxed, so we just went with it and didn’t complain. The second bed was very clean, as was the shower, and the water pressure was adequate. The free breakfast was what you’d expect at a mid-range hotel in the exurbs.

Sylvia checked us in on the first night and was so friendly. The hotel was mostly nice, though our room had a few issues. It seems hotels sometimes put you in less desirable rooms when you book through a third party like Expedia. This has happened to me several times now. I’d stay here again, and the world could use more people like Sylvia.
