Residence Inn by Marriott O'Fallon

At check-in, the room hadn't been cleaned at all. The trash cans were full, there was dirt and actual trash throughout, and blood stains on the walls. When I raised it, they gave me a vacuum that looked from the 80s and a 55-gallon bag for my 2-gallon can. I vacuumed and changed the trash myself, but no one came to clean for the next three nights. The manager brushed us off and said she'd credit the stay, then never did. After four calls to Corporate, I've been told to "deal with it". I will never stay here or at any Marriott again. This single stay was the worst I've had, despite being a Platinum member with over 100 stays at Marriott and a Marriott Credit Card. Marriott should remove this hotel from its chain or seriously evaluate the people running and working in its hotels. Complete joke.

I was here for a seven-week business trip, and housekeeping did a fantastic job. My room stayed clean, and I got a hot shower and hot breakfast every morning. This place is fantastic.

We stayed the week of Christmas 2025, checking in Monday and leaving Friday, and our room wasn't cleaned during that time. No one told us when booking or at check-in that the housekeeping schedule had changed. The room was dirty: carpet and the couch-bed sheet had stains, the office chair was badly marked, and the walls had a thick layer of dirt. A window was open when we arrived, and several bugs were inside.

The beds were really comfortable, and having a kitchen with a fridge and freezer was a plus. The service was the best part of the stay. The room itself was only okay and outdated, with an old TV, stained walls, a nasty bathroom, and vents and a toilet heavily rusted. When I went straight to the bathroom after arriving, I noticed the tub faucet dripping every second or two. The location wasn't great. I heard there's a hospital right behind the hotel, and every night we heard police sirens and ambulances outside. One night an ambulance drove into the parking lot with its sirens still going in the middle of the night, probably waking everyone up. Apparently an older woman staying at the hotel wasn't feeling well, which is part of why the location came up. Still, you should be grateful for what you get, even if hotels are outdated or have issues.
