RoseWood Inn

The owners were so friendly and helpful, and the beds were comfortable with plenty of hot water. The inn is right by the river, with a fire pit, a swing, and balconies on four of the rooms. It’s being remodeled, which it needs, and the decor is very retro, but everything was clean, so that was fine with me. My favorite part was everyone sitting outside their rooms in the chairs provided, talking, laughing, and making new friends.

I picked the Rosewood Inn on a whim when I needed a place for the weekend, and ended up loving it. The hotel is older, but our room was clean and well cared for. We could walk to all the fun spots in downtown Bryson City, then come back to a quiet, private place to relax. The staff were friendly, and sitting on my private balcony by the river, listening to the mountain town, was such a treat. If I’m back in Bryson City, this will be the first place I check for a room.

They have new ownership now, and the prices have gone up, so I can't say what the place is like these days. My last stay was at Two Rivers Lodge, and I was very happy there. Three years after our visit, I still remember how welcoming Patricia was. She made our stay in Bryson City memorable with her personal touch at this older motor lodge style place in the Smokies. When we asked, she gave us great tips on food and attractions. Everything was very clean, and she made us feel special. It’s not for someone looking for a new hotel, but if you like quaint older motels and owners who enjoy making guests feel welcome, this was a lovely place.

The room overlooking the river was lovely, and the hotel is an easy walk from town. It was clean, but the place is dated and a lot of things could use replacing and a fresh coat of paint. The bathroom window can't be opened, which was the worst part for me, especially since there isn't an exhaust fan.
